Description: Coastal Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join a primary care team in Savannah, GA. As an LPN, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional healthcare services to patients. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced or new LPN to work in a dynamic and patient-centered environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care.
Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of a physician. As an Licensed Practical Nurse, you will assist with patient assessments, perform wound care, conduct routine procedures, and maintain accurate patient records. Ensuring patient comfort, safety, and privacy are maintained at all times is an integral part of your role as an Licensed Practical Nurse.
Clinical Support: Collaborate with the primary care team, including physicians, and other healthcare professionals, to deliver comprehensive care. Your expertise as an Licensed Practical Nurse will be utilized in assisting with patient examinations, collecting and preparing laboratory samples, performing basic diagnostic tests, and communicating results to the healthcare team. Your contributions to the development and implementation of care plans will be highly valued.
Documentation and Recordkeeping: As an Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records. This includes documenting medical histories, vital signs, medications, and treatment plans. Adhering to documentation standards and complying with relevant legal and ethical requirements is crucial in your role as an Licensed Practical Nurse. Your proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems will be an asset.
Patient Education: An essential aspect of your role as an Licensed Practical Nurse is providing patient education on various health topics. This includes medication administration, disease management, and lifestyle modifications. Your ability to assist patients and their families in understanding their conditions, treatment options, and preventive care measures will contribute to promoting health and wellness.
Quality Assurance: As an Licensed Practical Nurse, you will be expected to adhere to evidence-based practice guidelines and standards of care to ensure quality and safety in patient care delivery. Participating in quality improvement initiatives and assisting in data collection and analysis will be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, maintaining a safe and clean clinical environment will contribute to the overall quality assurance efforts.
Requirements:
Valid and active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of Georgia.
Graduation from an accredited LPN program.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a primary care setting preferred.
Excellent clinical and critical thinking skills as an LPN.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems as an LPN.
Familiarity with medical equipment and procedures commonly used in primary care.
Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment as an LPN.
Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care and high ethical standards.
Flexibility to adapt to changing work demands and schedules.
BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
